Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai is a highly revered shrine of Lord Ganesha. According to Hindu traditions, worship of Lord Ganesha is considered auspicious for starting any task and Lord Siddhivinayak is just a synonym of Lord Ganesha. The temple consists of small hall where the idol of Shri Siddhi Vinayak is placed elegantly in the shrine.

Architecture
The building is not large. However, the magnificent architecture unfailingly casts a charm on visitors. The temple has wooden doors leading to the sanctum, which is carved with images of the Ashtavinayak, the eight manifestations of Lord Ganesha in Maharashtra. Inner roof of the temple is gold plated with a central statue of Ganesha flaunting four arms, a lotus, an axe, modakas (sweet deep fried dumplings) and a garland of beads. Siddhi and Riddhi, two affiliates of Lord Ganesh, flank his idol.

Worshipping Lord Ganesha
A statue of Lord Hanuman is placed near the main entrance. Tuesday is considered the most auspicious day when large number of devotees flock to the temple premises to pray. Followers of Hinduism worship Lord Ganesha before any important task.

Phool Gali
Phool Gali (Flower Street) near the temple is a narrow street where your can find flower sellers selling their flowers in their stalls. Fragrance of these flowers refreshes anyone who enters the alley.

How to Reach
Nearest railhead Victoria Terminus is just half an hour away from the temple. Autos and taxis can be taken from the temple to any part of Mumbai. For taking local buses, walk to Prabhadevi.
